Livestock

Several acres of pasture support a small flock of sheep, turkeys, laying hens, and pigs. We raise a limited amount of livestock on the farm to add fertility, to balance diversity, and to provide safe, locally produced meats for our community.  In addition, Willow Pond Farm also offersMaine-caught fish and locally raised beef.

Pork- Pigs are happily raised out in the fields with pasture, veggies and organic grain. Expect 100-140# for a half pig. You choose the cuts which may include chops, roasts, spare ribs, ham, ham-steaks, bacon, sausage and ground pork. Ready in October.

Lamb- raised on organic grain and mother’s milk for 2 months then raised on pasture. Whole lamb 35-45#. Expect in early winter.

Turkey- Free ranging on pasture and organic grain. 22# average. Ready for Thanksgiving.

Chicken- whole roasting birds, organic. Ready in July.
